The polysomnographic technician is responsible for providing evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient care and education. A polysomnographic technician can perform the duties as defines for polysomnographic technicians/technologists as defined by the American Association of Sleep Medicine.
Director of Perioperative Services
The Director of the Perioperative Services is a Registered Nurse who assumes 24-hour administrative responsibility for the management of all patient care in the perioperative environment. The Director manages the staff members in the surgery department to coordinate care with physicians and surgeons. Supervises, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of patient care. Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current regulations. Assumes house supervisory responsibilities as needed. The Cardiac Catheterization Radiology Technologist delivers patient care in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, under the direction and supervision of the Manager of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. This person functions as a cardiovascular radiological technologist and patient caregiver for adult and geriatric patients. This position helps promote quality care for patients undergoing invasive diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular, peripheral procedures, and pain procedures. This person preferably has experience recording and analyzing all types of hemodynamic waveform tracings, preparing the lab for procedures, ensuring that quality control of equipment and procedures are maintained, and reports functional deficiencies in a timely manner.
Delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifies and determines the priority of patient’s problems/needs, and evaluates the process and outcome of nursing care; coordinates, provides and directs patient teaching activities and coordinates the care provided by health team members; administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and Hospital policy. The Certified First Assist to the surgeon during a surgical procedure carries out functions that will assist the surgeon in performing a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. The CSA practices peri-operative care and has acquired the knowledge, skills, and judgment necessary to assist the surgeon through organized instruction and supervised practice. The CSA practices under the direct supervision of the surgeon during the first assisting phase of the peri-operative role. The CSA does not concurrently function as a scrub tech.

Manual dexterity is required, as is the ability to concentrate on detail in the midst of other activity. The scheduler schedules approximately 40 patients per day, and has the authority to make appointments for hospital departments according to the schedules they provide. The scheduler will follow very specific protocols in scheduling and the collection of financial information. However, they will have to be alert constantly for “special cases” which they will normally refer to the Supervisor.
